Welcome to the Haus der Natur Library Catalog

The Haus der Natur library contains approximately 50,000 monographs, journals, and series. Among them are about 3,000 historical books dating back to the 16th century. The nearly 20,000 journals and series were acquired primarily through interlibrary exchange and only to a small extent through purchase. The content of these works covers a wide variety of topics in zoology, geography, geology, and botany, as well as other natural sciences. Currently, approximately 40,000 books have been digitally catalogued.

The library is not currently open to the public, and regular borrowing is limited to museum staff and members of the working groups. If you are interested in borrowing individual items or have questions about our publication exchange program, please contact our librarian.
